The Manor Wildlife Park is located not far from the famous Welsh seaside resort of Temby, and the park is very close to other top attractions. I found the park well laid out, with all the attractions on the map. The park is slightly different from other wildlife parks; you can feed and even go into some animal enclosures that most parks would not allow. Some enclosures include Ring Tailed lemurs, Australian Wallabies, Mirkats, Giant Flemish Floppy Erased rabbits and more! Also with hand wash facilities nearby. The animal enclosures are a good size, so they can roam around and behave more naturally. It also has areas set aside for nature conservation.

The park has a gift shop, cafe, restaurant, and children’s play areas. This includes sandpit swings, an indoor bouncy castle and a climbing frame.

History of Manor Wildlife Park

The park was taken over by TV presenter Anna Ryder Richardson and her husband in 2008. The couple set out to restore the park as it was in a bad state of repair; the revamp took over seven months to be completed, and the park’s name was changed to Manor Wildlife Park. The zoo was previously known as the Manor House Wild Animal Park. The Manor Wildlife Park is now one of the top attractions in Wales!

The park has some fantastic animal attractions, including one of the world’s endangered species, the Sumatran tiger, they are part of the European Endangered Species Program; other animal attractions include, not animals already mentioned in this article, White Rhino, Damara Zebra, Red-Fronted Lemur, Red Ruffed Lemur, Wild Boar and more! The park also has a selection of birds, including ostrich, emus, rhea, macaw, and guinea fowl.

Conclusion of my visit?

The Good!

I love this park with the emphasis on the animals’ happiness as the first concern and with so much room for the animals to roam around; also, the park is more relaxed about meeting some of the animals close up. There is ample open space outside, ideal for family picnics, and a restaurant that makes its own hand-made stonebaked pizza! The park’s location is brilliant, close to other top local attractions and offers suitable family accommodation!

Could it be improved?

The gift shop could have some quality merchandise, not just kids’ toys and other cheap merchandise.

The Sumatran tiger enclosure does not have an observation tower. The enclosure is huge and is about the best I have seen, but adding an observation tower would encourage photographers to visit the zoo and let people see these magnificent creatures without taking photos from behind a fence, which restricts your view.

Compared to other wildlife parks, the signage could be improved, helping people navigate the park better!

I found the wildlife parks website a little puzzling. When you visit the website and click on animals, I see no links to descriptions of the animals. Proper descriptions of the animals and where they come from give people a more exciting experience when visiting the website and help it rank higher on Google and other search engines!
