Enjoy Your Holidays In Portugal – Portugal Summer Holiday Guide
Portuguese Algarve Albufeira Portugal
Portugal is the most western country in the world. There are a lot of destinations in Portugal – starting from the city’s capital and a true summer destination – Lisbon and continuing in the smaller and equally amazing places.
There is a lot to see and experience in Portugal, the land where the sun sets and where golfers have a lot to see. The southerly point of the Algarve is still an unexplored destination, however one that offers a lot of Portugal’s culture, including the great cuisine, architecture and wines – all inspired by the sun.
The capital which we already mentioned, Lisbon, is one of the most visited destinations in Portugal. It is a charming and a cobbled city where yellow trams rattle up and down the steep hills. You know you are in Lisbon when you see the narrow and steep streets built in the 18th century and protected ever since.

There are a lot of hotels and resorts in Portugal. Aside from the capital, there are hotels in the country’s other popular destinations including the wooded Sintra – the place that Byron describes as ‘the most beautiful village in the word’, the country’s second city Porto where you can find houses with British names and Coimbra in central Portugal, which is the birthplace of six kings and the nest of Portugal’s oldest university which was founded in 1290. There is also an impressive 18th century library packing more than 300,000 books in its gilded walls.
If you are more adventurous, you will find Alentejo at the perfect spot. Whitewashed chimneys and blue rimmed houses deliver the great hedonistic appeal. Unspoiled and not much inhabited, this place has a harsh climate with hot summers and cold winters. However, the medieval culture and the narrow streets are definitely worth visiting – even in the high summer temperature.
If you want sandy beaches and crystal waters, the Algarve is the top holiday spot in Portugal. However, it is not a crowded one, but more naturist – where you can enjoy a meal in the wooden restaurant on the beach and feel the breeze and tranquility of nature.
Portugal is well connected and getting there is easier. There are airports in Lisbon, Porto and Faro as Portugal’s best airports. So, what’s holding you from booking a flight and enjoying Portugal this summer?
